About Us

The Four Corners Conflict Network (4CCN) was established in 2015 with a view towards building some community connecting the many scholars of violent and nonviolent forms of political and social conflict that work at universities in the four corner states: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.

Some activities:

:: April 7-8, 2023: Our eighth annual conference to be held in Moab, UT. More details can be found under the "conferences" tab above.

:: April 22-23, 2022:
 Our seventh annual conference was held in Colorado Springs, CO. Hosted by Paul Bezerra at the United States Air Force Academy.

:: March 5-6, 2021: Our sixth annual conference held virtually due to the COVID pandemic.

:: January 24-25, 2020: Our fifth annual conference in Tucson, AZ. Hosted by Alex Braithwaite in the School of Government & Public Policy at the University of Arizona.

:: April 12-13, 2019: Our fourth annual conference in Salt Lake City, UT. Hosted by Andrew Linke in the Dept. of Geography at the University of Utah.

:: March 23-24, 2018: Our third annual conference in Albuquerque, NM. Hosted by Chris Butler in the Dept. of Political Science at the University of New Mexico.

:: March 31- April 1, 2017: Our second annual conference in Denver, CO. Hosted by our generous members from the Korbel School at the University of Denver.

:: Spring, 2017: Our first (hopefully annual)  e-exchange series pairing PhD students and faculty from multiple institutions together in virtual reading / workshopping groups.

:: April 15-16, 2016: Our first annual conference in Tempe, AZ. Hosted by our generous members from Arizona State University.

:: February 2, 2016: Cassy Dorff moderated a discussion between Alex Braithwaite, Faten Ghosn, and Andrew Linke on the ongoing migration crisis. Posted at Political violence at a Glance:  http://bit.ly/1nKutCC
